Greetings! It is now March, 3 months after our big Spay/Neuter campaign. We continue to help the Street Dogs one by one as they reach out in need of medical attention and TLC. Since our campaign, we have taken in over 15 dogs and 1 kitty! Four of them have become US Citizens and 2 Canadian Citizens! We have provided medical and treatment for skin conditions, tick fever, ear infections and wound care. Our volunteers have dedicated a portion of every day to the animals, whether it's bringing them food, transporting them to the vet, caring for them in their own home while we find an appropriate permanent home, and spreading the word for fundraising purposes. A garage sale was organized all in an effort to raise funds to support the Street Dogs. We have had great community support with cash donations to our vet, donations of food and blankets. We are lucky to have such supportive people living or visiting our area who really care about the welfare of the dogs. Thank you all!
Our next endeavor is another spay/neuter clinic to reach another area of our community. Our goal will be 40-50 animals. We will need to raise at least $500.00 in order to make this happen. Many of the locals bring their dogs because they care, but can not afford to pay the 10,000 colones fee. We want to be able to help them. We want their dogs to be altered to prevent the suffering that the Street Dogs end up enduring. The less unwanted puppies, the less are found homeless on the streets. Please help by donating whatever amount you are comfortable with AND by sharing our efforts.
Thank you again... enjoy the photos of all the dogs (and kitty) that you have helped.
Kind Regards,
Kim Frigault & the team from Hope 4 a Street Dog
